Body

The most obvious cause is related to the body - diet, exercise and hormones. Eating an unhealthy diet full of processed food can really take its toll on our skin. Exercise also plays a role in maintaining healthy skin as it helps eliminate toxins from the body. Lastly, hormones have a direct effect on acne and skin blemishes.

Eating a balanced and healthy diet can help keep your skin clear and acne free. Focus on eating nutrient-rich whole foods that promote good health, such as lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts and seeds. Avoid processed foods with added sugars and oils that can contribute to inflammation in the body. Also make sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and flush out toxins.

Exercise is also important for skin health. Not only does it help eliminate toxins from the body, but it can reduce stress levels as well. Aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day to keep your skin looking its best.

02

Skin

On the skin side of things, dirt, oil and bacteria can often cause breakouts. When dirt and oil accumulate, it clogs pores which can lead to skin blemishes. Bacteria is also a factor as it can get trapped in the follicle and cause inflammation.

At Joy Skin Clinic, we understand that your skin is unique and highly individual. We focus on finding the underlying cause of your acne so that you can get the best results. Our team of experienced cosmetic specialist will work with you to create a tailored treatment plan based on your lifestyle and needs. This could include anything from topical treatments, oral medications or lifestyle adjustments such as diet, exercise and stress management.

We are here to support you every step of the way so that you can achieve clear and healthy skin. Check out on our services, and book your initial consultation with us to start your healthy skin journey!

Mind

Stress levels can trigger breakouts due to increased cortisol production in our bodies. When we are feeling overwhelmed and anxious, it’s important to take time for ourselves and practice relaxation techniques to reduce stress levels.

Managing stress is key for acne-free skin. Avoiding stress triggers and taking time for yourself can help reduce cortisol levels, which in turn helps prevent breakouts. Taking up a new hobby or practicing relaxation techniques like meditation are great ways to manage stress.

A positive outlook and a relaxed mind can help reduce the amount of stress hormones released, leading to healthier skin.
